A local driver's tip for this trip
Jalori Pass closes with the first heavy snow, usually January to March, and the Banjar side stays open even when the Ani side doesn't. If your dates are in winter, we plan Jibhi as an in-and-out from Aut rather than a pass crossing.
What's included
- Private cab for the full itinerary with a Himachal-licensed hill driver
- All fuel, driver allowance, night halt charges and inter-state permits
- Toll, parking and green tax on every stretch of the circuit
- Snow chains, shovel and first-aid kit on winter departures
- Airport, railway station or hotel pickup at no extra charge
- 24/7 WhatsApp support from Kartik and Paras during the trip
What's not included
- Hotels and meals (we can block rooms with our partner properties on request)
- Monument, monastery and national park entry tickets
- Rohtang Pass rotation permit fee where the government charges it separately
- Adventure activities — paragliding, rafting, skiing, ATV rides
- Anything caused by landslides, road closure or weather beyond the itinerary
Jibhi Tirthan Valley Tour Package — questions travellers ask us
How much is a Jibhi Tirthan tour package?
Four days starts at ₹23,500 in a sedan and ₹28,500 in an SUV from Delhi, all-inclusive of fuel, driver allowance, night halts, tolls, parking and taxes.
Is Jalori Pass open all year?
No. It usually closes from January to March with snow and reopens once the PWD clears it. Jibhi and Tirthan themselves stay accessible all year from the Aut side.
Which is better, Jibhi or Tirthan?
Jibhi is the village with cafés, the waterfall and easier access to Jalori; Tirthan is quieter, riverside and better for fishing and GHNP. Our package stays in one and day-trips to the other, and most guests base in Jibhi.
Can we do trout fishing in Tirthan?
Yes, with a licence from the Fisheries Department at Larji or Banjar, which local stays arrange in a day. It's catch-and-release on much of the river and the season runs roughly March to October.
How difficult is the Serolsar lake trek?
Easy to moderate — about 5 km each way on a mostly level forest trail from Jalori Pass, taking around three hours round trip. There's a small dhaba at the lake and it's suitable for reasonably fit kids.
Is Jibhi good for a monsoon trip?
It's lush and beautiful, but the Banjar valley roads see landslides in July and August and Jalori can shut for days. If you go in monsoon, keep the plan flexible and don't book a same-day onward flight.
What is Chehni Kothi?
A 1,500-year-old multi-storey wooden tower in Chehni village, reached by a 30-minute uphill walk from Shringa Rishi temple at Bagi. It's one of the tallest surviving traditional kath-kuni structures in Himachal.
Is there network in Jibhi and Tirthan?
Jio and Airtel work patchily in Jibhi and Banjar and drop off entirely in the upper Tirthan and past Jalori. Most stays have wifi. Consider it a feature.
Can we combine Jibhi with Manali or Kasol?
Easily — Jibhi is only 60 km from Aut, which is on the Manali highway and the Kasol turn-off. A combined 6-day Jibhi + Manali or Jibhi + Kasol package adds roughly ₹8,000.
Is a sedan enough for Jibhi?
Yes outside winter. For the Jalori Pass crossing, the Chehni approach road and any snow, an SUV is much more comfortable and we'd recommend it.
